Reserving Space at the Capitol Building for Public Events

The Department of Administration, General Services Division may be contacted to schedule an event on the Capitol Grounds or in the Rotunda. The Capitol Rotunda and grounds may be used for public events. A public event is any event that is open to the public and to which the public will have full access. There may be fees associated with the event depending on the hours of the event.

The Capitol Rotunda and grounds may not be reserved for private events (weddings, receptions, parties, etc.).

Areas that can be reserved for public events:

  • North Lawn
  • South Lawn
  • Rotunda

REGISTRATION FORM: A reservation may be made within the listed hours in the table to the right. Special requests that fall outside listed hours must be approved by the General Services Division Administrator. For more assistance with an after hour event please call (406) 444-3060

EQUIPMENT: General Services staff may assist with setup if requested on the form. Items available for use are listed on the form.

ELECTRICAL ACCESS: Electrical outlets are available for use in several places in the Rotunda and on both sides of the exterior of the Capitol. The organizer of the event must provide all necessary electrical equipment (extension cords, power strips etc.).

Reservation Instructions:

  1. Please review the policy: Public Safety and Facility Use for State Space and State Grounds in Helena.
  2. Sign and submit a State Capitol Complex Event Permit.
