What We Do
The General Services Division is composed of four bureaus that are responsible for providing certain internal functions to government agencies and the public.
The Facilities Management Bureau provides services to state agencies, including repair, maintenance, construction, energy management, space allocation, lease negotiation, security, emergency management coordination, janitorial services, recycling, pest control and garbage collection.
The State Procurement Bureau procures or supervises the procurement of all supplies and services needed by the State and provides technical assistance to government agencies and the public to ensure compliance with the Montana Procurement Act.
The Print and Mail Services Bureau provides a complete print-to-post facility for state agencies. The Bureau has a central print, mail preparation and mail facility and three quick copy centers. We provide printing, bindery, addressing, envelope inserting, metering of mail, sorting of incoming mail and deadhead, bar-coding outgoing mail, and delivery and pickup of mail directly to state offices. Additional services include the management of the cost-per-copy photocopy contract, operation of the Contracted Postal Unit in the Capitol and contracting with the private sector for printing not provided at our central facility.
The Property and Supply Bureau manages the Central Stores program and the state and federal surplus programs.
In addition, the Division manages the State's intergovernmental fueling card, purchasing card, and energy procurement programs.
