Building Emergency Action Plan Guidelines

Emergency Action Plan Guidelines have been developed by the Department of Administration, General Services Division (GSD), in conjunction with local, state and federal emergency management resources for the State of Montana Capitol Complex. Guidelines were developed for the safety and well-being of the employees and visitors in State of Montana owned and leased buidlings. Employees are encouraged to print a copy of all the guidelines and review them often. Your safety and the safety of visitors to your office, depends on your knowledge of appropriate response to emergencies.

Other guidelines are in the development state and will be posted when approved.

AED Plan and Use Report

As required by state law, the Department of Administration has also developed an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) plan for buildings on the Capitol Complex in Helena. An AED is an emergency device that when properly used, can increase an individual's chance of survival from a heart attack. The AED plan contains provisions that require employees to be certified in order to use the devices, describes where they will be located on the Complex, and the "after use" reporting requirements.

Agencies that have or plan to purchase AED units must contact the General Services Division for instructions on how to proceed before installing or using the devices. Please have employees responsible for AED's within your agency contact Lou Antonick, Emergency Management Specialist, at 444-1462 for more information. The Capitol Complex AED plan is available below.
